I've been debating for months whether to get my 3 almost 4 (in Jan) a Bitty Baby for the holidays.

The expense cost was one factor, plus the other was I have two other cousins-one is 5 and one is a year, and I know I'd feel bad if I didn't give them nice gifts either.

However, I figure with the Bitty Baby it will be an excuse for me to order things for it for the holidays/birthday/etc-and add something for myself to balance out shipping. *grins*

So I did it! She is going to receive the brown eyed/brown hair bitty baby. I am going to talk to my parents and see if they will give me the money that I can order things for her baby from them as my parent's holiday gift to her.

What things would you recommend to be ordered-I'm hoping to keep it definately under 40, but most likely under 35. We are Jewish too-so Christmas items are out! Any things that your 3 year olds-5 year olds LOVE or must have? Furniture/clothes/etc.

Oh how exciting! I think the new Bitty collection with the trunk is darling. It is so "baby-baby", unlike the items AG usually designs for Bitty. That will be so fun to add to the collection. You have to let us know how she likes the doll when she gets it. [img]graemlins/thumbs_up.gif[/img]

This isn't an AG item, but DD has one of those Graco baby doll travel systems that comes with a stroller and infant carrier/car seat. They are great and your daughter and/or niece can take baby with her in the car or push the stroller up and down the street. (I live on a cul-de-sac where kids play in the street - you might prefer a sidewalk.)

Well, the two little girls that I know that are 3 and 4 absolutely ADORE anything that has to do with Princesses ans Ballet. You could order either of those outfits, and not go wrong.

The Graco play set mentioned is great, and it's available at Sam's right now. There is also a Pooh furniture set on the back page of the Penney's Christmas catalog that would be wonderful for Bitty-- tons of stuff plus a doll you could donate, for around $40.

In my experience, young girls prefer things to play with rather than outfits. (Outfits can be hard for smallish hands to get on. *I* even have trouble with some of the Bitty things.) The diaper bag is a great idea! I'd add the layette set to whatever you get since it's only $5, and wrapping baby in her blanket is lots of fun. The only exception would be if you got the starter collection because it comes with a quilt. That set would be fun for the bib and bottles, and she might really enjoy toting that trunk everywhere. The travel doll seat is also a good choice, as well as the lunch fun set. The crib is $40, but I'd worry about Bitty's head getting *really* bumped up if you can't put bedding in it. (Maybe that would be a good combo gift for the next holiday.) The high chair and changing table would also be fun. (But how come there's no padding on the changing table?) Of course, with the furniture, space is an issue.

I think Bitty should be cuddly, so I like the soft outfits like:

Travel Doll Seat (nice place to serve lunch too!)

When I gave my DD her Bitty Baby on her second birthday I also gave her the diaper bag that came with some supplies such as bottles, pretent powder, a hooded blanket/towel, etc. She certainly got a lot of use out of it! - Meg B.
